After breakfast, depart Entebbe and journey west towards Kasese, gateway to the legendary Rwenzori Mountains. Along the way, stop at the Equator for photographs and a brief demonstration before continuing through scenic countryside characterized by rolling hills, tea plantations, and traditional homesteads. Arrive in Kasese in the evening and settle into your lodge as you prepare for the mountain trek ahead.

After breakfast, transfer to Nyakalengija (1,615m), the starting point of your Rwenzori trek. Meet your guides and porters before commencing the ascent.The trail passes through local farmland before entering the national park and following the Mubuku River. A steady climb through lush forest leads to Nyabitaba Hut. Along the way, keep an eye out for black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and the colourful Rwenzori Turaco.
Nyabitaba Hut | Meal Plan: B,L,D
Descend through the forest to the Kurt Shafer Bridge, where the Mubuku and Bujuku Rivers converge. Continue through bamboo forest and giant heather zones while enjoying views of Mount Stanley and Mount Speke. Cross the challenging bogs before arriving at John Matte Hut for dinner and overnight.
John Matte Hut | Meal Plan: B,L,D
Today’s trail crosses the Bujuku River and traverses the famous Lower Bigo Bog, home to giant lobelias and unique Afro-alpine vegetation. Continue through the Upper Bigo Bog before reaching Lake Bujuku, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. Arrive at Bujuku Hut situated beneath Mount Baker and Mount Speke.

Leave Bujuku Hut and ascend through Groundsel Gully toward Scott-Elliot Pass. A metal ladder assists climbers over a steep section before the trail branches. Those aiming for Margherita Peak continue on the rugged ascent to Elena Hut, strategically positioned below Mount Stanley.
Elena Hut | Meal Plan: B,L,D
Rise early for the summit attempt of Margherita Peak, the highest point in the Rwenzori Mountains and the third-highest peak in Africa. The climb traverses glaciers, exposed rock sections, and snowfields before reaching the summit. After celebrating your achievement, descend via Scott-Elliot Pass with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and valleys before continuing to Kitandara Hut.
Kitandara Hut | Meal Plan: B,L,D
Begin the day’s hike with a steep ascent toward Freshfield Pass (4,282m), offering magnificent views into the Democratic Republic of Congo and the surrounding mountain ranges. Continue along the southern slopes of Mount Baker before descending toward Guy Yeoman Hut.

Your final day on the mountain follows a scenic descent through bamboo forests and alpine vegetation zones. Pass Nyabitaba Hut before continuing down to Nyakalengija where you complete the Central Circuit. Meet your driver and transfer to your lodge for a well-deserved shower, relaxation, and celebration of your achievement.

This morning, report to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing before entering Kibale Forest in search of habituated chimpanzees. Besides chimpanzees, the forest is home to numerous primate species, colourful birds, and unique forest flora.After lunch, visit Bigodi Community for a guided cultural experience and wetland walk.
